Infravision is proud to announce a groundbreaking collaboration with Powerlink Queensland, utilizing our innovative drone stringing systems to transform powerline construction. Together, we have successfully deployed 50 kilometers of transmission lines to connect the Genex Kidston Pumped Storage Hydro System to Queensland’s SuperGrid—the longest high-voltage transmission line strung by drones in the Asia-Pacific region.
Our advanced technology offers a safer, more efficient, and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional methods. Powerlink’s Chief Executive Officer, Paul Simshauser AM, highlighted the benefits, stating, “This technology has proven to be less intrusive for landholders, safer for our team and gets the job done quicker.”
Infravision’s President of Air Operations, Josh Williams, emphasized the collaborative success: “Infravision and Powerlink Queensland are setting new standards in the energy sector by delivering more efficient and sustainable transmission solutions. Our collaboration is deeply focused on enhancing the safety of Queensland’s workforce, minimizing environmental impact, and ensuring we get the job done on time.”
Reflecting on our local impact, Infravision’s Regional Director, Matt Jones, stated, “We take pride in how our collaboration with Powerlink is fostering innovation at our Queensland manufacturing facility, creating jobs for Queenslanders and enabling the integration of cutting-edge Australian technology and services to bolster the worldwide shift towards sustainable energy.”
This partnership not only advances renewable energy infrastructure in Queensland but also showcases the potential of homegrown innovation in driving global sustainable energy solutions.
